Welcome to the Whale Coast

The Whale Coast in the Western Cape province of South Africa offers a range of properties for home buyers and investors looking to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and investment opportunities that this picturesque region provides.

This area falls within the Overstrand Municipality and the greater Cape Overberg region. It is made up of towns, villages and small communities that dot the coastline, stretching from Rooi Els in the west to Cape Agulhas in the east.

The Whale Coast is ideally situated for nature lovers who want to reside close to cities and large towns, yet live away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan areas. Cape Town, Stellenbosch and Hermanus are within convenient driving distance, while Cape Town International Airport is a mere 80kms away.

Some towns in the area are also now being called "Zoom villages" because they offer the perfect environment for residents who want to live in proximity to major cities but work remotely.

This often-windy stretch of coastline enjoys average temperatures ranging between a maximum of 16 and 25 ⁰C, and a minimum of 9 to 17⁰C degrees. Like the rest of the Western Cape, it experiences rain in the winter months, while December to February is the hottest, driest period.

NS Property Solutions, a Western Cape-based estate agency, has a strong presence in the Hangklip region of the Whale Coast, which includes Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Kleinmond. The towns and villages of the Kleinmond-Hangklip coastal strip are accessible via the well-known Clarence Drive.
